Collection History:
Said to have been collected by Paul Logan in 1895 from an unnamed Winnebago man who said it had belonged to his mother; formerly in the collection of Indian art collector David T. Vernon (1900-1973); acquired by MAI in 1968 through an exchange with the Jackson Hole Preserve, Inc. (a foundation backed by the Rockefeller family), which purchased Vernon's entire collection in 1965.
