Summary:
Diary entries recorded on a set of commercially-printed pages, each page recording a week. Susan Hale used these pages to records activities and her travel for scattered dates ranging from ca. 1878 to 1907. The diary is not in chronological order-it skips around, sometimes having a 6 month period together, sometimes only a few weeks. Subjects included: her own home at Matunuck, Rhode Island and various studios in Boston; Algiers; Mexico; Olana, the home of Frederic and Isabel Church; and Washington, D.C. A few pages include labelled photographs.
