Pictures, clippings, and engravings; including a clipping file of pictures of historic places and people; clippings and postcards of New York City and Battery Park reproduced from the Blair Collection (City Museum of New York); HARPER'S WEEKLY illustrations; stereoscopes of American monuments, architecture, sites, and the Philadelphia Exposition of 1876; 10 color wood engravings of the Philadelphia Exposition; 26 issues (a complete run) of the weekly PHOTOGRAPHIC SERIES: THE WORLD AND ITS PEOPLE BY SUNLIGHT, 1893 & 1894; a children's book from 1808, THE CRIES OF NEW-YORK; and miscellaneous exhibition catalogs and books.

Biography Note:
Herbert Barber Howe (1882-1957) was a clergyman, amateur historian, and author of history books. Taught contempory civilization at Columbia University, 1922-1938, editor for the WESTCHESTER COUNTY HISTORICAL BULLETIN, 1947-1954, and a member of the Society of the Cincinnati and the Bedford Historical Society.
