The watercolors are captioned: "Entering the dark forest 160 days march"; "Crossing the gloomy forest"; "Reception by a friendly tribe", "Attacked by hostile tribes" and "Arrival at the Albert Nyanza".
General note:
Executed in the artist's inimitable satirical and lively style. Each drawing is on a separate gilt-edged card and is signed by the artist.
