Scope and Contents:
Original title reads, "Polling agents getting instructions for Dec. 12 federal elections from Robert N. Rapson, M.V.O., a senior assistant secretary in the office of the prime minister, who was assigned as electoral officer for Lagos. All the polling agents at the 283 polling stations in Lagos were employes of the government or of public corporations. Lagos elected three of the 312 members of the federal house of representatives." This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from August 18, 1959 to December 20, 1959.
