Scope and Contents:
This series consists of three scrapbooks, two of which were compiled by Harry Siddons Mowbray and the other likely compiled by George Mowbray. One scrapbook by Harry Siddons Mowbray contains clippings and some printed material, photographs, and invitations relating to his time spent in Rome with the American Academy in Rome. The other scrapbook by Mowbray contains clippings relating to his career and artworks. The George Mowbray scrapbook contains clippings concerning his chemical inventions.
Use of original papers requires an appointment.
The Harry Siddons Mowbray and Mowbray family papers are owned by the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. Literary rights as possessed by the donor have been dedicated to public use for research, study, and scholarship. The collection is subject to all copyright laws.
