Descriptive Entry:
The journals of Arthur Lakes record his observations while exploring for saurian fossils at Morrison, Colorado, 1877; Como Station, Wyoming, 1879; and various other locations. The journals also contain lectures and notes on the discovery of fossil vertebrates.
Historical Note:
Arthur Lakes (1844-1917) was a Professor of Natural History at Jarvis College, Golden, Colorado, and served as a collector of fossil vertebrates for Othniel Charles Marsh of Yale University.
